The Atiku Media Office has issued a statement vehemently denying reports that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State made funds available to Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria during the 2023 campaign season.
The statement describes these allegations as “a blatant lie from the pit of hell” and “a contrived political hogwash.”
According to the statement, Atiku Abubakar has never met or had any connection with Governor Sanwo-Olu, making the alleged transaction impossible.
The Atiku Media Office believes this is a politically motivated attempt to discredit Atiku Abubakar and the opposition coalition, while also justifying an alleged attempt to remove Governor Sanwo-Olu from office.
The statement challenges the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to make public the outcome of its alleged investigation, emphasizing that the Nigerian public, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, have a right to this information.
The Atiku Media Office concludes by calling for an immediate end to the “voyage of misadventure and campaign of calumny” against Atiku Abubakar’s person and reputation.
