Family of abducted five-year-old girl breathes sigh of relief as SCID takes over case

The family of five-year-old Memunah Abdulrahman, who was abducted in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State, has confirmed that officers from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) have taken over the case.

The abduction occurred on March 9, 2025, when the suspect approached the girl and her sister while they were returning from an Islamic school and led them into a store.

Investigation Underway
– CCTV Footage Review: The police reviewed CCTV footage showing the suspect abducting the child and fleeing.
– SCID Takes Over: The Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, has directed the SCID to take over the case, and detectives have begun conducting a preliminary investigation.
– Family Expresses Gratitude: The community secretary, Ojagbemi Takuro, speaking on behalf of the family, thanked the Commissioner of Police for intervening in the case.

Family’s Plea for Help
– Financial Constraints: The family had exhausted their finances in the search for their daughter without any success, pleading with the public for help.
– Public Assistance: The family is seeking assistance from anyone who may recognize the suspect or have information about the abduction.
