As Nigeria commemorates the 2025 Children’s Day, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu has called on parents, guardians, and all Nigerians to actively combat bullying in all forms to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for the nation’s children.
In her goodwill message, the First Lady extended her heartfelt love to every child across the country, emphasizing the need to build a supportive and fear-free society for the younger generation.
“This year’s theme, ‘Stand Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation’, speaks to our shared responsibility to protect and empower the young hearts and minds who represent the promise of Nigeria’s future,” she said.
Senator Tinubu stressed that bullying—whether in schools, communities, or online—inflicts emotional, social, and academic harm on children. “Every child deserves to grow up in an environment that is safe, supportive, and free from fear,” she added.
“As a mother, I call on all Nigerians to take an active stand against bullying. Let us teach our children that strength lies in compassion, and that true leadership begins with looking out for one another.”
She further noted that Children’s Day is a vital reminder of the importance of protecting children’s rights, raising awareness, and advocating for their well-being. “It also underscores the need to invest in our children, as their healthy development is essential for a better and brighter future for all,” the First Lady concluded.
