Five injured as Police give details of Ikeja explosion

A devastating explosion occurred on April 11, 2025, at approximately 6:35 pm, inside a CCTV camera dealer shop on Kodesho Street, near Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos.

The Lagos State Police Command swiftly responded to the incident, deploying operatives from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit, Mobile Police Detachment, and Conventional Police Teams to cordon off the area.

Police Investigation Underway
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, arrived at the scene promptly and assured the public that the Command is fully in control of the situation.

Residents are urged to remain calm and carry on with their daily activities without fear, as the area has been rendered safe and secured.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the explosion.

Injuries and Medical Response
Five individuals who sustained various degrees of injury have been rescued and taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) for medical attention.
