Five men, Adeigbagbo Harrison, Prince Toluwoleke Megba, Harrison Soji, Megbalewon Adeniji James, and Segun Ekomale (Ikuomola), were arraigned before the Lagos State High Court on Monday for allegedly making false statements against Oba Saheed Elegushi, the Elegushi of Ikate land.

The defendants face eight counts of conspiracy, making false statements, and impersonation, preferred against them by the police.

According to the police prosecution counsel, M. Animashaun, the defendants conspired to make false statements to the police against Oba Elegushi, the Al-Mansour family, Mr. Chinedu Nweke, Chief Ogunyemi John, and Monsunmola Ogunyemi.

The alleged offenses were committed on November 30, 2022.

Additionally, Adeigbagbo Harrison is accused of falsely presenting himself as the paramount ruler of the Itedo community, with intent to defraud, between January and February 1, 2023.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges, and their counsel, Ebun Olu- Adegboruwa (SAN), requested that they continue with the administrative bail granted to them by the police.

Justice Ibironke Harrison granted the request, and the case was adjourned until April 8, 2025.
