Gov. Monday Okpebholo has rescued victims of a serious road accident involving four vehicles.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that the Edo State governor took action after seeing several injured passengers in critical condition, while bystanders stood by recording instead of helping.

The incident happened on Saturday.

It occurred along the Benin–Auchi Road, shortly after the bypass in Esan Central Local Government Area.

Reports said the governor, who was heading to Irrua with his convoy, stopped after encountering heavy traffic.

He assessed the situation, ordered two of his security Hilux vehicles to be used for emergency transport, and personally supervised the evacuation of victims to the hospital.

Witnesses explained that a white Toyota Venza, driving against traffic, caused the crash involving three commercial mini-buses and left many injured.

Locals and motorists praised the governor’s swift and compassionate response, calling him a true leader who prioritizes the lives of his people.
