The All Progressives Congress (APC) must choose a new kind of candidate if it hopes to win back Oyo State in the 2027 governorship election. According to Mr. Bola Babarinde, a former APC chairman in South Africa, the party needs someone who is smart, inspiring, and fully dedicated to transforming the state.

Babarinde made this statement recently in Lagos, emphasizing the importance of selecting the right leader for Oyo State’s future. He noted that Oyo, once a leader in education, health, culture, and innovation, has lost its place and now struggles to keep up with other states like Lagos.

People in Oyo are no longer satisfied with the usual political leaders or empty promises. They want real change and fresh ideas to bring the state back to its former glory.

To achieve this, Babarinde said the APC should pick a candidate who thinks globally but acts locally. This leader should be ready to introduce new ways to improve technology, farming, tourism, and education in the state. Most importantly, the candidate must have the courage and energy to challenge the poor leadership that has slowed Oyo’s progress for years.

Babarinde’s message is clear: the 2027 governorship race is a chance for the APC to redefine Oyo State’s future — but only if they choose a visionary leader who can truly deliver results.
