Fuji icon, Wasiu Ayinde K1 de Ultimate, has recalled the humble beginnings he shared with the creator of the brand, the late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister.
According to him, he used to live with Barrister when the latter was staying in a single room in Alasalatu, Mushin, Lagos.
He said Barrister was his mentor who became like his father – though he stressed he never learnt music from the deceased legend.
In an interview with Bamidele Adeyanju, Wasiu said, “I always went to Barrister’s house. I would bolt away from my parents’ house and went to sit with him. At a point, he insisted he wanted to meet my mum. So, I took my mother to him.”

Wasiu said he learnt a lot from Barrister’s attitude and general outlook about life.
