Igboezuo group felicitates Frank Umeh as he marks New Yam festival in Lagos

Members of Igboezuo Socio-Cultural Organization, a Pan-Igbo association committed to the promotion of friendships, inter-tribal relationships, and Igbo culture have felicitated with Chief Frank Umeh (Ichie Umejiaku Aguluezechukwu) on the occasion of the celebration of his annual new yam festival.

Chief Tony Obinugwu, the leader of the organization who led members to the event held at Chief Umeh’s home in the Banana Island area of Lagos on Sunday, 22nd September 2024, praised Chief Umeh for using the annual event to unite Ndigbo living in Lagos while also promoting Igbo culture.

“This is what we promote and encourage at Igboezuo. Ndigbo live all over the world and through the celebration of new yam and other Igbo festivals, we promote our culture to the world. Such events also help to build harmonious relationships with other tribes and races who attend. This promotes peace and harmony”.

Speaking, Chief Umeh thanked members of Igboezuo for honouring the invitation. “I thank the members of Igboezuo for the wonderful work they are doing promoting Igbo culture and building harmonious relationships with other tribes and races. I urge Ndigbo living in Lagos and other places to rally around the organization”, Chief Umeh concluded.

Members of Igboezuo who accompanied the leader include Chief Dr. Uche Nworah (Ezeudo Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri), Chief Ifeanyi Nwosu (Akuoma Ajali), and Chief Ifeanyi Agwu (Ononando Awgu).
