Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has etched her name in history once again, setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice with a staggering 8,780 kilogrammes (19,356 lb 9 oz).

The record-breaking feat, achieved in partnership with food brand Gino, took place at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, drawing thousands of supporters, celebrities, and food lovers eager to witness the historic moment.

On Monday, Guinness World Records confirmed the achievement via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, posting:

“New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria .”

Baci, who first captured global attention with her viral 2023 cook-a-thon, said the success was not just personal but a celebration of Nigerian cuisine on the world stage.

Ahead of the official confirmation, Guinness World Records had shared a message of encouragement, writing: “Best of luck to @hildabacicooks who’s attempting a new record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice today.”

With this latest milestone, Hilda Baci has further solidified her place as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs and cultural ambassadors.
