In a surprise move, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, has announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) just two weeks after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Adeniran known publicly as Jandor, the 2023 PDP governorship candidate in Lagos, made the announcement at a press conference in Lagos on Monday.
According to Jandor, his decision to rejoin the APC was motivated by the party’s commitment to winning elections and delivering good governance to Lagosians and Nigerians. He noted that the APC is a party that prioritizes winning, regardless of who is on the ballot.
Jandor’s return to the APC comes after he met with President Bola Tinubu and other prominent political leaders in the country. His defection is seen as a significant boost to the APC in Lagos State.
Jandor had previously resigned from the PDP on March 3, 2025, citing anti-party activities by some leaders of the party in Lagos State. He has now rejoined the APC, citing the party’s commitment to winning and delivering good governance.
