Lagos building collapse death toll rises to five

The death toll from the building collapse in the Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos has increased to five, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

The three-storey building, located at 9&10 Oremeta Street, crumbled on Saturday, trapping employees and customers of a restaurant beneath the debris.

Update on Casualties
LASEMA initially reported one fatality and nine injuries.

However, in a fresh update, the agency confirmed five deaths, including three females and two adult males. Twelve others were rescued alive.

Ongoing Rescue Efforts
The agency has implemented safety measures, cordoning off the area to facilitate ongoing search and rescue efforts.
