Lagos State Council of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle Adio, publicly known as Tafa Sego, is shaken after six armed men stormed his residence in Surulere, Lagos, in a bid to kill him.
Fortunately, he was away attending an event at the time of the attack on Saturday.
The Incident
– Attack Details: The assailants, who arrived at his Gbadamosi Close residence around 11 pm, encountered only the security guard, whom they restrained before ransacking the house in search of Tafa Sego.
– Neighborhood Reaction: The invasion sent shockwaves through the neighborhood, with residents expressing fear and concern over the unprecedented incident. Many worry that the attackers may return to launch another assault in the area.
Investigation and Aftermath
– Police Response: Officers from Area C Command visited the residence to assess the situation, document damages, and interrogate the security guard, who provided vital information to aid the ongoing investigation.
– Tafa Sego’s Response: A close associate confirmed that the unionist is deeply concerned about being targeted, especially while implementing policies to improve NURTW members’ welfare. Tafa Sego has pledged full cooperation with security agencies to ensure those behind the attack are brought to justice.
