The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old man suspected of being a member of an armed robbery syndicate that specializes in car theft.
The suspect was apprehended in the Ikotun area of Lagos through intelligence gathering, according to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to receiving three Lexus 330 and one Lexus 350 2017 model from an accomplice, a woman who is still at large.
He led police operatives to where he sold the cars, resulting in the recovery of one Lexus 350 silver in color and a Lexus 330 black in color.
The police are now working to apprehend other members of the syndicate and recover the remaining stolen vehicles. The suspect is cooperating with the police to recover the two remaining Lexus cars.
