In a swift response to allegations of extortion, the Lagos Police Command has taken three officers from the Isheri Police Station into custody.
The officers, whose names have not been disclosed, allegedly extorted N150,000 from content creator Ramadan Adenola, also known as Netrovert, near Under Bridge, Berger, on Sunday.
According to reports, the officers initially demanded N2 million from Adenola before settling on the N150,000, which has since been recovered.
The Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, has directed that the officers be transferred to the Provost office at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja for disciplinary action.
This development comes as CP Jimoh has been emphasizing the importance of accountability and professionalism within the police force.
In his inaugural address, Jimoh warned criminals to either repent or face the full weight of the law, while also reaffirming his commitment to intensifying efforts to reduce crime and ensure a safer environment for all residents.
