LASIEC sets Saturday for LG, LCDA elections across Lagos

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has officially scheduled elections into local government offices across the state for Saturday, July 12.

According to a notice signed by the Commission’s Chairman, Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (Rtd), the elections will cover the offices of Chairmen for the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), as well as Councillors for the 376 electoral wards in Lagos State.

Polling activities are expected to begin at 8:00 a.m. and close by 3:00 p.m. on election day.

The notice emphasized that voters are only permitted to cast their ballots at the Polling Units where they are registered, and only individuals whose names appear on the official Voters Register will be eligible to participate in the election.

The announcement was issued on Saturday, July 5, 2025, in compliance with Section 41(1) of the LASIEC Law of 2008 (as amended).
