Following outrage occasioned by the placement of a banner at the Lekki central mosque, Lekki, Lagos, the management of the workshop centre has removed the item from their gate.

On Wednesday, EveryDayLagos had reported that an actress, Wunmi Tuase, took to her X page to criticise the action of the mosque.

Her photo of the banner subsequently went viral attracting condemnation across social media platforms.

Later in the evening, a resident of Lekki and worshipper at the mosque, Mr Tunde Alabi, who had earlier condemned the hoisting of the message alerted the public that he had contacted the Imam of the mosque over the outrage it generated.

Alabi, during a video message confirmed that the banner had been withdrawn and that the leaders of the mosque in a message had intimated him of the removal of the banner.
