The massive General Hospital facility under construction near Iyana Iba, Ojo, Lagos State is indeed a testament to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s vision for a greater Lagos.
This project, undertaken by CIBA Construction, has been in the works for about three years – initially slated for completion within two years but delayed due to unforeseen circumstances.
Located in a bustling area known for its local and international markets and excellent highway connections to Benin Republic, Badagry, FESTAC, Satellite Town, Apapa, Orile, Mile 2, Iba, Igando and Alaba – this hospital will undoubtedly provide much-needed healthcare services to the communities. With its civil works anticipated to be completed in a few months, the project’s conclusion will mark a significant milestone in the governor’s effort to upgrade Lagos’ healthcare infrastructure.
This hospital’s construction began on a wet land. The government had to reclaim the land with piles and piles of sand and construction of access roads via the Lagos-Badagry expressway and the LASU-Iba-Igando-Iyana Ipaja highway.
The project is a welcome development for communities around the area. This hospital will limit referrals to hospitals in far-flung places thereby encouraging access and timely interventions. It’s exciting to see projects like this shaping the future of Lagos residents and enhancing the lives of its people.
