Mr. Macaroni opens up about ₦500m debt, betrayal and financial struggles

Comedian and actor Debo Adedayo, publicly known as Mr. Macaroni, has shared a heartfelt story about his financial struggles, revealing that he accumulated a debt of over N500m due to a scam, failed investment, and poor financial decisions.

In a candid post, Mr. Macaroni explained that his generosity and recklessness led to serious debts, forcing him to borrow money to meet his obligations. He admitted that 2024 was both a career-defining year and the most difficult period of his life.

The comedian revealed that he was a victim of a scam and a failed investment in 2021/2022, which cost him all his savings. He kept his struggles private, but eventually, he started borrowing money, believing he could easily pay it back with interest.

However, Mr. Macaroni soon realized he was using most of his income to cover the debts. Despite gaining international recognition for his acting in 2024, he was weighed down daily by his overwhelming debt and financial burden.

The biggest shock came when someone he trusted deeply betrayed him, leaving him completely devastated. Mr. Macaroni credited his family and friends for helping him through the tough times and described himself as a fighter who never gives up.
