Musician Terry Apala remanded over naira abuse

A Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has remanded musician Terry Ejeh better known as Terry Apala in a correctional facility over alleged mutilation of naira notes.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned him on a one-count charge.

Charge Details
The charge states that Apala allegedly tampered with naira notes during a social event on January 5, 2025, by marching on them, an offense contrary to the Central Bank of Nigeria Act.

Court Proceedings
Apala pleaded not guilty, and the prosecution counsel requested a trial date and remand. The defense counsel applied for bail, but the prosecution opposed it. The court refused the bail application and remanded Apala.
