Lagos State Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, hosts Ifeoma Chukwu, convener of MyLagosApp, during a strategic meeting to strengthen tourism-tech synergy ahead of Detty December 2025.
In a strategic move to enhance service delivery and enrich the experience of residents and visitors, the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has partnered with the developers of MyLagosApp—a tech-driven, all-in-one digital platform designed to streamline tourism, hospitality, transportation, and entertainment services across the state.
During a courtesy visit on Monday, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, welcomed Ms. Ifeoma Chukwu, the convener of MyLagosApp, to his office in Alausa. He praised the initiative, especially as preparations ramp up for the highly anticipated Detty December celebrations.
“We need stronger synergy to tell our stories authentically and position Lagos as Africa’s tourism and entertainment capital. Tech innovations like MyLagosApp are critical to achieving that vision,” Aregbe said.
He announced plans for a two-day pre-Detty December engagement event, aimed at unveiling the state’s festive roadmap. Stressing the importance of early coordination, Aregbe called on event promoters and organisers with December activities to register with the Ministry for scheduling support, security planning, and official recognition.
“This isn’t just about visibility—it’s about accountability. Registering ensures you’re part of a unified, professionally executed calendar that prioritises safety, impact, and the Lagos brand,” he added.
In her remarks, Chukwu described MyLagosApp as a centralized digital hub offering real-time updates on events, traffic, nightlife, accommodation, and government-approved activities. She expressed optimism about the Ministry’s support, noting that official endorsement would significantly boost credibility and user trust.
“Our goal is to ensure that both residents and tourists experience the full vibrancy of Lagos—seamlessly and safely,” she said.
