The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has blacklisted popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan, widely known as K1 De Ultimate, over a recent security breach at a Nigerian airport.
As a consequence of the action, the legendary singer will not be permitted to board any domestic flight within Nigeria for the next six months.
According to a preliminary report released by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the incident involved the artist attempting to board a ValueJet flight while allegedly carrying an open container of alcohol. The report claims that K1’s conduct led to a confrontation with airport security officials and the pilot, resulting in his denial of boarding.
FAAN further stated that the musician’s behaviour was in violation of standard aviation security protocols, leading to his indictment in their findings.
However, in a swift response, K1 De Ultimate denied the allegations, insisting that he did not carry alcohol. In a statement released by his team, the musician explained that the flask in question contained plain water and not any alcoholic substance, contrary to FAAN’s claims.
The incident has sparked debate among fans and stakeholders, with some calling for a thorough and transparent investigation to ensure fairness and maintain professionalism in aviation conduct.
