NDLEA raids Lagos hotel, recovers ₦1.042bn worth of Canadian Loud

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has raided a five-storey hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, recovering 589 bags of Canadian Loud, a strong strain of cannabis, worth N1.042 billion.

The operation, which lasted several hours, resulted in the arrest of three suspects: Eze Ayitu, Ofuokwu Samuel, and Emmanuel Ameh.

Luxury Items Seized
The NDLEA also seized several luxury items suspected to be proceeds of illicit drug trade, including a Toyota Prado Landed Cruiser SUV, a Toyota Sienna Vehicle, and 74 new TV sets.

Interceptions in Kano and Jigawa
In a separate operation, the NDLEA intercepted over 2 million pills of tramadol in Kano and Jigawa, worth millions of naira. The agency also seized a shipment of cocaine hidden in body cream bound for Saudi Arabia.

Arrests and Seizures
The NDLEA arrested several suspects, including three Ghanaian ladies attempting to smuggle cannabis into Nigeria, a 60-year-old grandmother found with 5.6kg of skunk, and a suspect with 100 litres of codeine syrup.

War Against Drug Abuse
The NDLEA continues to wage war against drug abuse, with various commands across the country conducting WADA sensitization lectures and advocacy visits.
