Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) must intensify efforts to register more eligible citizens in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He addressed APC leaders at the ward, local government, and state levels, alongside Speaker Emomotimi Guwor, State Chairman Omeni Sobotie, stakeholder Solomon Arenyeka, and State Publicity Secretary Valentine Onojeghuo.

The governor explained that registering new voters, especially those who turned 18 since the last registration in 2022, would enable them to obtain Permanent Voter Cards, strengthen party unity, and improve the APC’s chances in the 2027 general elections.

He stressed that unity, loyalty, and teamwork remained essential for victory at all levels.

Oborevwori made the call during an enlarged APC leaders’ meeting held while the voter registration exercise was in progress.

The meeting took place at the Government House in Asaba, Delta State.

He outlined that leaders would reach out to newly eligible voters, encourage grassroots participation, resolve internal disputes, and work collectively to consolidate loyalty and unity.

Delta State House of Assembly, Mr Emomotimi Guwor, urged elected and appointed members to return to their constituencies to mobilise for the exercise.

The party’s State Chairman, Chief Omeni Sobotie, emphasised the need for teamwork to boost electoral fortunes.

APC stakeholder, Arenyeka, appealed for reconciliation among aggrieved members.

The APC State Publicity Secretary, Onojeghuo, told reporters that unity and capturing all eligible young voters would make the 2027 polls easier for the APC to win.
