The Gombe State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Habu Dahiru, has said the government planned to host a landmark health summit aimed at improving healthcare delivery across the state.
He explained that the event would unlock the state’s healthcare value chain and introduce new strategies to enhance service quality and accessibility.
According to him, the summit seeks to strengthen the health system, address existing challenges, and ensure residents have access to affordable and quality medical services.
He added that the gathering would bring together stakeholders from different sectors to design practical solutions for a more effective and sustainable healthcare structure.
Dahiru stated that the two-day summit would take place from October 2 to October 3, 2025, in Gombe State.
He noted that the programme would feature the unveiling of the Gombe State Human Resources for Health Policy and Strategy Document, which outlines new plans for workforce development and capacity building.
He further said the summit would also include the commissioning of major healthcare projects such as the Federal Medical Centre in Kumo, the SDG Women and Children Hospital in Malam Inna, and the Gombe State College of Nursing and Midwifery.
He added that First Lady Oluremi Tinubu would inaugurate the facilities, while Dr. Ali Pate and Amina Mohammed would participate virtually.
