The Lagos State Government has announced that residents lose an average of four hours daily to traffic congestion, translating to an estimated economic loss of N4 trillion annually.

Speaking during a television appearance on Friday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, stated that to enhance logistics coordination, reduce traffic bottlenecks, and improve road safety, the government will begin enforcement of an Electronic Call-Up (E-Call-Up) system for all tankers and articulated vehicles operating along the Lekki-Epe corridor, starting Monday, June 16, 2025.

According to Giwa, all truck and tanker drivers entering Lagos to load or offload goods must now register and schedule their movements through the E-Call-Up platform.

He emphasized that the digital system is aimed at coordinating truck movements, eliminating indiscriminate roadside parking, and minimizing disruptions to other road users.
