The streets are about to sizzle again as Sabi Chef Street Food Festival and Competition returns for its third and hottest edition yet! This year’s celebration of Nigeria’s bold street food culture promises an explosion of flavour, flair, and fun — with a thrilling ₦2 million grand prize and a new social mission to feed 1,000 underprivileged street children.
Since debuting in 2023, the Sabi Chef festival and competition has grown into one of Nigeria’s most exciting culinary showcases — a vibrant mix of competition, creativity, and community. From suya to shawarma, boli to buns, the contest shines a spotlight on the chefs who turn everyday Nigerian ingredients into unforgettable street delights.
Speaking at the announcement of the 2025 edition, Mr. Olushola Ewuola, founder of the Sabi Chef festival and competition, revealed the new humanitarian twist:
“This year, we’re turning up the heat — not just in the kitchen, but in the hearts of Nigerians. Our ‘Feed 1000’ initiative will ensure that one thousand children on the streets get a warm meal and a sense of belonging. Food is not just about flavour — it’s about love, hope, and community.”
Ewuola also unveiled a new strategic partnership with Zuri Seasoning, a bold and flavourful new brand from UAC Foods.
“Zuri Seasoning understands taste. Their energy, creativity, and passion for local flavour make them the perfect partner for Sabi Chef,” he said.
Adding even more spice to the mix, Chef Joy, the effervescent brand ambassador of Sabi Chef, announced this year’s fiery theme — “Pepper Dem!”
“We want contestants to bring the real Nigerian heat — the kind that excites the tongue and tells a story. It’s about confidence, colour, and that signature street flavour that makes people say ‘You sabi cook!’” she enthused.
The grand finale will take place on Saturday, November 30, 2025, at the Ikeja City Mall Grounds — a full-blown street food festival filled with aromas, laughter, live music, and sizzling competition. Attendees will be treated to a high-energy performance by crowd favourite Segun Johnson, who will keep the vibes alive as contestants battle for culinary glory.
The overall winner will take home a ₦2 million cash prize, plus bragging rights as Nigeria’s ultimate street food champion.
Aspiring chefs, food vendors, and lovers of authentic Nigerian street food are encouraged to register now and join the fun.
