Operatives from the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 25-year-old man, Samson Oghenebreme, for allegedly transporting human organs from Edo State to a native doctor intended for use in money-making rituals. The arrest took place on April 25, 2025, in the Odomola community of Epe, following credible tips from vigilant members of the public regarding Oghenebreme’s suspicious activities.

According to a statement from the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect was on his way to deliver the organs to a practitioner specializing in ritualistic practices.

“The operatives of the Odo-Noforija Division acted swiftly on information received from the community, resulting in the apprehension of Oghenebreme,” Hundeyin reported. “The human organs have been securely deposited at the General Hospital in Epe for preservation. The case has now been forwarded to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.”

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, praised the prompt action of the operatives and the keen awareness of the Odomola community members. He emphasized the critical role of timely information sharing in preventing crime and encouraged residents to remain vigilant, urging them to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station.

“Rest assured,” CP Jimoh stated, “the Command is steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in Lagos State.”
