The recovery was made by a police operative at around 6:10 pm on Wednesday, and the items were subsequently deposited at the Victoria Island Police Division.
According to reports, the building where the arms cache was found had been acquired by a furniture company, and the discovery was made during a cleanup operation.
The police have chosen not to disclose the name of the operative or the exact location of the building to avoid compromising the ongoing investigation or causing undue tension in the area.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that the rifles and ammunition have been deposited at the State Armoury as the investigation continues.
