Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a notorious ‘One Chance’ robbery kingpin and two members of his gang during a routine patrol in Ikeja.

The suspects, identified as 53-year-old gang leader Bode Oludayisin, along with Michael Sowunmi (22) and David Olawaye (20), were apprehended along Agege Motor Road after officers from the Ikeja Division responded swiftly to an alarm raised by a victim being attacked inside the gang’s unregistered commercial minibus.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, Oludayisin had long been on the police radar and was previously declared wanted for his involvement in multiple violent robberies across Lagos.

Recovered items include a Tecno Spark 20 smartphone belonging to a recent victim, an axe, two concrete interlocking bricks, large stones, and a broken bottle — all allegedly used to intimidate or assault their targets. The operational minibus, commonly known as Korope, was also impounded.

Police investigations revealed that the gang specialized in luring unsuspecting commuters by posing as legitimate commercial drivers and passengers, particularly around Oshodi, before robbing them at knifepoint or under threat of violence.

Hundeyin assured residents that the suspects will be prosecuted while urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements promptly.
