Rangers International FC of Enugu delivered a commanding 4-0 victory over Katsina United FC on Sunday in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Week 36 encounter. The match, held at the main bowl of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, marked Rangers’ final home fixture of the 2024/2025 season.

Veteran forward Godwin Obaje set the tone early with a quick-fire brace in the 10th and 15th minutes, giving the Flying Antelopes a comfortable 2-0 lead going into halftime.

Katsina United responded aggressively after the break, piling pressure on the home side but failing to convert their chances into goals. Rangers’ Technical Adviser, Fidelis Illechukwu, made three crucial substitutions that shifted the momentum.

Midfielder Saviour Isaac extended the lead with a well-placed finish in the 78th minute, and substitute C. Igwilo sealed the rout in the 90th minute, capping off an emphatic performance.

Despite the dominant win, Coach Illechukwu expressed frustration over the team’s current league position and financial struggles.

“I appeal to the state government to come to our aid,” he said during his post-match interview. “I am a top-class coach, and I’m not happy with where we are this season.”

The victory places Rangers in 8th position on the 20-team NPFL table with 52 points.
