Sanwo-Olu commends Jumia’s contributions to Nigeria’s e-commerce growth

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has praised Jumia Nigeria for its significant contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s e-commerce sector.

During a courtesy visit by Jumia’s management to the State House in Marina, Sanwo-Olu acknowledged Jumia’s role in creating jobs and driving economic development in the state and Nigeria.

The governor urged Jumia to maintain its excellent service standards and strive for improvement. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, highlighting various initiatives that have strengthened the ease of doing business and fostered innovation.

Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of collaborations between the public and private sectors to enhance service delivery, infrastructure development, and create opportunities for residents.

He recognized Jumia’s growth from a tech start-up in Lagos to a leading e-commerce platform in Nigeria, with a presence in nine African countries.

Jumia Nigeria’s CEO, Sunil Natraj, expressed gratitude to the governor for creating a conducive environment for businesses to grow.

He reaffirmed Jumia’s commitment to contributing to the state’s and country’s growth, providing excellent service, and enhancing customer experience.

Natraj noted that Jumia employs hundreds of Nigerians directly and thousands more indirectly, aiming to transform everyday life in Africa by making goods and services more accessible.
