Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on members and loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to embark on a vigorous house-to-house campaign to ensure victory in the upcoming Local Government elections scheduled for July 12.
Speaking through his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, at the Lagos West 2 Senatorial District Mega Rally held on Monday in Ijanikin, the governor urged residents to come out en masse and vote for all APC candidates, stressing that grassroots mobilisation was crucial to defeating opposition parties.
“There is no other party in Lagos State doing what we are doing. We have completed and ongoing projects across the state. As members of this great party, we must be proud of our achievements,” Sanwo-Olu said.
He added, “We must mobilise ourselves and others. It is not enough to carry placards—go out with your PVCs and cast your votes. Don’t let us disappoint our leaders. Let us ensure we defeat the opposition at the polls.”
Lagos APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, echoed the governor’s sentiments, calling on residents to reward the party’s performance with massive votes. He highlighted the contributions of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu to the development of the Lagos West Senatorial District.
“To the youth of this corridor, this is the time to show appreciation for all the good things done for us. We must unite and demonstrate that Lagos West 2 stands firmly with the APC,” Ojelabi said.
He urged religious leaders, community heads, market associations, and ethnic groups to throw their support behind the party’s candidates.
Also speaking, Alhaji Babatunde Balogun, Chairman of the APC Campaign Council, called for unity among party members and candidates, especially those aggrieved by primary outcomes, to present a strong front for victory.
Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, a member of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), described the July 12 elections as pivotal for the APC’s prospects in the 2027 general elections.
Former Deputy Governor Princess Sarah Sosan encouraged women to leverage their electoral strength by voting massively for the ruling party.
The rally drew a large crowd of APC stakeholders, including GAC members, party executives, state and national lawmakers, and representatives of various community and trade groups.
