The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will on Wednesday, October 8, inaugurate a newly completed housing estate comprising 420 housing units at Ajara, Badagry.

The new development, known as the Lagos State Housing Estate, Ajara Phase 1, is expected to accommodate over 2,000 residents and significantly expand the state’s stock of affordable housing.

Announcing the development during a media chat in Ikeja on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, said the estate features one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments, designed to meet the needs of various income groups.

He explained that the project underscores Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to completing ongoing housing projects and providing more Lagos residents with access to quality, affordable homes.

Akinderu-Fatai expressed satisfaction with the completion of the Ajara Phase 1 project, noting that it would stimulate economic activities in Badagry and improve the area’s development outlook.

He appreciated the patience of prospective homeowners and advised interested applicants to make inquiries at the Estate Department of the Ministry of Housing, Block 3, The Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.

The commissioner also cautioned the public against dealing with fraudulent agents, emphasizing that the ministry does not appoint intermediaries for the sale of its housing units.

“All transactions are handled directly by the Ministry of Housing to ensure transparency and protect genuine applicants,” he stated.
