President Tinubu commissions landmark projects in Anambra, pledges support for Soludo’s vision of a modern, globally competitive state.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed strong support for the developmental strides of Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, pledging continued collaboration to accelerate the state’s growth.

Tinubu made the remarks during his first official visit to Anambra State since assuming office, where he commissioned several landmark projects including the newly constructed Anambra Government House and the Soludo Fun City.

Speaking at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, the president lauded Governor Soludo for his ambitious developmental vision and commended the state’s progress under his leadership.

“I have just commissioned two landmark projects — the Solution Fun City and the Government House mini-city — as part of the initial steps on the path towards your audacious vision of Anambra as the African-Dubai-Taiwan-Silicon Valley,” Tinubu said.

He drew parallels between Soludo’s vision and global transformations, noting that what is now the glitzy city of Dubai was once just desert. “A few years ago, Dubai was largely a desert. Today, it is a global hub because one man dared to dream,” he added.

Tinubu also reminisced about Soludo’s successful consolidation of Nigerian banks, emphasizing that bold leadership and vision can produce remarkable results.

“Anambra has huge potential, and with Soludo, we can work together to fast-track this vision. Going forward, we are not just friends: I am now a bona fide son of the soil — one of you,” the president declared, eliciting applause from the audience.

In a lighthearted moment, he jokingly requested a piece of land from Governor Soludo to build his retirement home in Anambra. “Maybe my friend and your governor, Charles Soludo, should find me a plot of land for my retirement home after service,” Tinubu said.
