The Super Falcons of Nigeria have returned home in grand style after clinching their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco.

The victorious team touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at exactly 2:26 p.m. aboard a chartered flight, to a rousing reception from jubilant fans and high-ranking government officials who had waited for hours to welcome the champions.

On hand to receive the team were the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris; Minister of Culture and Tourism, Hannatu Musawa; and Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, among others.

As part of the celebrations, the Super Falcons will parade the WAFCON trophy in an open-top bus across the streets of Abuja, culminating in a reception at the Presidential Villa, where President Bola Tinubu is expected to host and honour the team for their historic achievement.
