The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that three transmission towers on the Ikeja West-Osogbo 330KV Line were damaged, resulting in a 165 MW load loss. According to TCN General Manager Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, the incident occurred on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, during windy rainfall.

A thorough investigation revealed that a trailer truck collided with detached conductors on Tower 527, causing extensive damage to Tower 528, which subsequently collapsed. Towers 526 and 524 were also affected.

TCN engineers are working to repair the damaged towers and restore normal bulk power supply to Ikeja, Eko, and Ibadan Distribution Companies (DISCOs).

In the meantime, the 165 MW load loss has been diverted through other lines to minimize the impact on the affected DISCOs.
