President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the families of victims of the fire outbreak that occurred on Tuesday at Afriland Towers on Broad Street, Lagos Island.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the President commiserated with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), United Bank for Africa (UBA), United Capital Plc, and Afriland Properties Limited, noting the loss of lives and injuries sustained in the inferno.
President Tinubu particularly sympathized with those who lost loved ones in the tragedy and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured currently receiving medical care.
The President lauded the efforts of emergency responders, including the Federal Fire Service, medical personnel, first aiders, and members of the public, for their swift intervention during the evacuation process.
While urging increased caution, training, and vigilance to avert similar incidents in the future, Tinubu prayed that God Almighty would grant eternal rest to the departed souls and comfort to the bereaved families.
