President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after a ten-day working visit that took him to Lagos, Ibadan, Imo, and Jos, where he engaged in a series of high-level meetings and national events.

The President arrived in Lagos on Friday, September 26, after attending the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, in Ibadan.

During his stay in Lagos, President Tinubu met with key investors, including Bayo Ogunlesi, Chief Executive Officer of Global Infrastructure Partners, and Keem Belo-Osagie, former Chairman of United Bank for Africa and Etisalat, who now chairs Metis Capital Partners.

He also hosted the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Mr Arsenio Dominguez, alongside the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and other industry leaders. The discussions focused on strengthening Nigeria’s maritime sector, with the President reiterating his administration’s commitment to developing the industry as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.

Ahead of Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary, the President visited Imo State, where he commissioned several projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma. He also unveiled a book authored by the governor, chronicling a decade of APC governance in Nigeria.

President Tinubu delivered his Independence Day national broadcast from the State House, Dodan Barracks, Lagos, and later commissioned the renovated National Theatre, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts. At the event, he urged Nigerians to speak positively about their country and remain united in purpose.

Rounding off his itinerary, the President travelled to Jos, Plateau State, on Saturday, October 4, to attend the burial of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, chairman of the APC.

At the funeral, President Tinubu paid glowing tribute to the late matriarch and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fairness and equity among all religious groups, particularly Christian communities in Northern Nigeria.

He returned to Abuja on Sunday, October 6, to resume official duties at the Presidential Villa.
