President Bola Tinubu, on Saturday afternoon, assured Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu that all grievances between them had been settled, declaring, “It’s all over now. All is forgiven.”
The reconciliation came during a meeting with members of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), who had gathered to intercede on behalf of the governor and others perceived to have fallen out of favour with the president.
Chairman of the GAC, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, who welcomed the president to Lagos, acknowledged Tinubu’s displeasure with certain individuals in the state, particularly Governor Sanwo-Olu, and earnestly appealed for forgiveness.
In response, President Tinubu reassured the gathering, stating, “It’s all over now. All is forgiven,” putting an end to the tension and confirming he held no lingering resentment.
Following the president’s remarks, Sanwo-Olu and other GAC members reportedly prostrated before him in a show of humility and reconciliation.
In an interview afterwards, the governor said Tinubu is his father and could not have any issue with him.
A source present at the meeting revealed that no specific details of the rift were discussed, as the focus remained on a collective plea for pardon — which the president granted without hesitation.
