In a significant victory for Nigeria’s counter-terrorism efforts, Special Forces under Operation HADIN KAI have neutralized a high-ranking Boko Haram/ISWAP commander, Amir Abu Fatima, during a precision military operation in the Kukawa axis of Northern Borno State.

The successful strike, carried out on Thursday, followed credible intelligence that identified a key terrorist stronghold in the area. Troops engaged in an intense gun battle with insurgents, resulting in the death of Abu Fatima—who had a ₦100 million bounty on his head—along with his deputy and several other terrorists, including explosives experts.

Multiple weapons were recovered at the scene, including AK-47 rifles, loaded magazines, assorted ordnance, and materials used in the fabrication of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Remarkably, the mission was executed without any casualties among the Nigerian troops.

This operation marks a major blow to the terrorist infrastructure in the North East and reaffirms the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s determination to restore lasting peace and security to the region.
