Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, has  said that the gaming industry has the potential to create jobs and boost Nigeria’s economy.

He made this remark during the opening of the 2025 Enugu Gaming Conference, which was held on Wednesday in Enugu.

The event was organised by the Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission.

The governor explained that the state aimed to develop the local gaming sector, raise public awareness, protect vulnerable communities, and prevent underage gambling.

Mba, who was represented by Commissioner Nathaniel Urama, launched a digital licensing platform and planned broader tech adoption to improve Nigeria’s regulatory system.

The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Arinze Arum, stated that the gaming industry was changing rapidly.

He pointed out that the focus had moved beyond enforcement and revenue generation to include innovation, collaboration, and structural reform.
