A retired Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Charles Atideka, allegedly killed three people in a land dispute in Badagry, Lagos State.
The 63-year-old ex-police officer was said to have shot and killed two family members and one other individual before allegedly taking his own life.
However, Atideka’s son, Henry, disputed the suicide claim, stating that his father collapsed and died while on his way to the police station for interrogation. Henry attributed his father’s death to a rise in blood pressure caused by false accusations.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident, but the circumstances surrounding Atideka’s death remain unclear.
The Medical Director of General Hospital Badagry, Dr. Olatunde Bakare, stated that the hospital has not conducted any tests to determine the exact cause of death.
The incident has sparked controversy, with Henry calling for a thorough investigation to find the real culprit and clear his father’s name.
