The Lagos State Government has sealed DONALD’s Restaurant, owned by nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, publicly known as Cubana Chief Priest, over serious environmental violations.

The popular restaurant, located on Road 14 in the Lekki Phase 1 area of Lagos, was shut down after two of its staff were caught illegally dumping refuse by the roadside.

The Managing Director/CEO of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Muyiwa Gbadegesin, disclosed the development on his X handle. He explained that the incident came to light after the Chairman of the Lekki Estate Residents Association (LERA) alerted LAWMA in the early hours of Saturday, May 18, 2025, about illegal waste dumping along Durosimi-Etti Street.

“A white Ford van with Abuja registration number GWA 136E was caught in the act of indiscriminately discharging waste,” Gbadegesin revealed.

The vehicle was traced back to DONALD Restaurant. LERA’s Chief Security Officer apprehended the suspects on-site and took them into custody at the LERA Secretariat. It was reported that the culprits attempted to bribe the security personnel with ₦100,000, which was rejected.

LAWMA’s Monitoring and Compliance Team quickly moved in, took custody of the suspects, and sealed the restaurant for violating the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law, 2017.

Gbadegesin emphasized that the suspects would be prosecuted according to the law and reiterated LAWMA’s commitment to upholding environmental standards across the state.

“LAWMA remains resolute in its commitment to enforcing environmental regulations across Lagos and urges all residents and businesses to adhere strictly to proper waste management practices. A clean and livable city is everyone’s responsibility,” he stated.
