The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed the completion of 3.44 million registrations as it concludes phase two of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
The commission disclosed the update, stating that the figure “comprises both online pre-registrations and physical walk-ins at various centres nationwide as at April 3.”
INEC recorded over two million registrations through its online platform and more than one million through physical enrolment centres nationwide.
Youth participation dominates the process, with citizens aged 18 to 34 accounting for a significant share of new registrants.
Female registrants outnumber males in the latest figures released by the commission.
Students lead other occupational groups among new voters, followed by those in business and farming activities.
INEC maintains the suspension of registration in the Federal Capital Territory in line with legal provisions after the Area Council election.
The commission plans to verify the data through claims, objections, and biometric checks before finalising the register.
