A 72-year-old man, Anayinwa Daniel, was on Thursday arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly defrauding two individuals of a combined sum of N222,000 under the pretext of renting out apartments.
Daniel, whose residential address was not disclosed, is facing charges of stealing, obtaining by false pretences, and conversion of funds.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to the prosecutor, Inspector Adegeshin Famuyiwa, the offences were committed around 8:47 a.m. on February 2, at No. 1, James Daniel Street, Olorunshogo Community, Ikorodu.
