Three employees of a Lagos-based company — Adebola Adeaga, 46; Benjamin Oladeji, 36; and Collins Enaimoni, 28 — were on Friday arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing N10.27 million from their employer.

The trio is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing, to which they pleaded not guilty.

According to the prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, the alleged offences occurred between August and September at Addas Ultimate Limited, Ikeja. The defendants were said to have collected N10.27 million from the company’s cashier but failed to remit the funds into the organisation’s account.

Ademigbuji told the court that the alleged fraud came to light after an external auditor uncovered discrepancies, and the defendants could not account for the missing money.

He said the offences violate Sections 287 and 411 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.

Chief Magistrate L. A. Owolabi granted the defendants bail in the sum of N800,000 each, with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case to December 18 for mention.
