A fatal crash on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday claimed three lives and left several others seriously injured, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has confirmed.
In a statement posted on its official X handle on Wednesday, LASTMA said the accident occurred near the Secretariat, heading toward the Otedola Bridge. The agency noted that three vehicles were involved in the collision.
“Three vehicles were involved in the collision, resulting in three fatalities and several serious injuries. LASAMBUS personnel are on the scene, providing medical attention to the injured victims,” the statement read.
Emergency responders from the Lagos State Ambulance Service were deployed to administer medical care, while LASTMA officials and operatives of the Nigerian Police Force worked to manage traffic and maintain order around the crash site.
LASTMA added that efforts were ongoing to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow. Motorists were urged to approach the area with caution.
