A Ghanaian self-proclaimed prophet, Ebo Jesus—also known as Ebo Noah—has sparked widespread debate online after predicting that a catastrophic global flood will begin on Christmas Day, December 25.
The 30-year-old claims he received a divine revelation warning that rain will fall continuously for three years, plunging the world into a deluge similar to the biblical story of Noah. Acting on what he describes as God’s instruction, Ebo Noah has begun constructing modern versions of Noah’s Ark in Ghana, which he says will serve as refuge during the impending disaster.
Videos showing the wooden arks under construction have gone viral on platforms such as TikTok and YouTube, drawing millions of views and prompting scenes of curiosity, concern, and ridicule. Some followers have reportedly shown interest in the project, while critics have dismissed the prophecy, citing biblical interpretations, scientific reasoning, and practical limitations.
In one widely shared video titled “What will happen and how it will happen,” posted in August, Ebo Noah insists the flood will begin on Christmas Day and that he intends to live on one of the arks throughout the three-year rainfall.
