The Lagos State Government has announced designated parking spaces and identification arrangements for all 57 Local Governments (LGs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) participating in today’s Eyo Festival, popularly known as the Adamu Orisa Play.
The notice, issued as part of preparations for the cultural event, is aimed at ensuring seamless coordination, effective traffic management, public safety and the smooth flow of the Eyo procession.
According to the arrangements, all access roads leading to the Eyo Festival corridor will be opened to vehicles at 8:00 a.m. and closed by 11:00 a.m. prompt, when the procession is scheduled to begin. Authorities stressed that no vehicular movement into restricted areas will be allowed after the closure time.
Participating LGs and LCDAs have been advised to ensure that all official vehicles, buses and participants arrive early to avoid disruption or denial of access.
To enhance coordination and ease of movement, each bus conveying participants from the LGs and LCDAs is required to display a clearly visible identification banner boldly indicating the name of the respective council. Only properly identified vehicles will be permitted access to the designated parking areas.
The approved parking locations for the festival include Odeya Car Park, Onikan; Banquet Hall Car Park; Arcade Car Park; MUSON Centre Car Park; National Museum Car Park; and Cricket Pitch Car Park. The National Assembly Car Park has been reserved strictly for VVIPs.
The government urged all LGs and LCDAs to cooperate fully with traffic management and security personnel deployed to the various locations and to comply with all directives issued on the day of the event.
Chairmen, Council Managers, Directors and Coordinators have also been directed to promptly disseminate the information to all concerned officers and participants to ensure strict adherence and the overall success of the Eyo Festival.
